The Hannah in Me

My heart rejoices in the Lord,  in the Lord my horn is lifted high.
My mouth boast over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance.
1 Samuel 2:1

Today I'm done reading the book entitled "Secure in Heart" it's a book about overcoming insecurity in a woman's life.  In the last part of the book, one of the practicals given is to  find a character in the Bible whose story reminded me most about myself. One that comes first to mind is Hannah, not with the desire for a child (not now) but more of what she went through because of her hearts desire.

Like Hannah, our desire for something sometimes overwhelms us, I can relate with the insecurities that Hannah experience as she watched others dreams and desires being fulfilled.  I appreciate how the bible described her longings as well as her disappointments, how she overcame the evil that makes the situation became much harder for her "and because the Lord had closed her womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her." 1 Samuel 1:6. Hannah's situations push her to get extra closer to God, she believed that only God can give her the answers she needs.

"In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the Lord." 1 Samuel 1:10, sometimes the situation that we go through steer us to see God more in our lives, like Hannah, the desire for a child was deeply planted in her heart, her desires prompted her to have an overwhelming feelings of desperately asking God to bless her with what she wants.  This situation teaches Hannah to grew more in her knowledge and understanding of God's leading and control over the situation.  She might chose to be affected by the negatives that come her way but she dealt with the situation with eyes fixed on what she believed about God.

Hannah's story teaches me that situations is God's way of getting our attention back to Him, I believed that God is able to provide an answer to every heart's desire, it may not always like how Hannah get what exactly she prayed for but I believed that God's answers is perfect for our needs.  I like the part when Hannah got too emotional with God, crying to God is truly the best antidote of a troubled heart.  I'm glad that in whatever situation I go through, it opens the opportunities for me to see and know God more.
